Everyone that knows me knows one thing: It's practically impossible to book me for a wedding. When it comes to weddings, I don't and I won't unless there are extreme or unique circumstances. Due to Covid-19 life in itself has become an extreme and unique circumstance. Somehow and someway I ended up in Charleston to photograph my friend's small, efficient and absolutely beautiful wedding that followed quarantine protocol.
In attendance was the intermediate family of the bride and groom. I was the only outsider and the guests of the wedding were all attending via a Facebook Live stream. There were no caterers running around in a frantic fashion, no DJ on edge looking for a cue to to play a pre-decided setlist and no preacher wiping sweat from his forehead with a perfectly folded handkerchief, It was just me, the family and all of the love in the atmosphere present. The feeling was so surreal but at the same time I couldn't help but think. "I wish all weddings were like this". "AIN'T NO JUST SITTING AROUND IN HERE LOOKING PRETTY"
